At the moment I´m starting my day at 8:30am and be home at around 10pm or later. Since three days I´m walking the stairs to the fifth floor up and down around 40 times a day. On monday my roomates and me will move out of our apartment and I´ll already head back to Germany in the middle of the next week. There is so much happening but while you are working you don´t even have the time to think about everything. Today when I arrived back home all the furnitures were already gone. I´m really looking forward to see the wonderful pick-me-up sign again tomorrow morning on my way to the studio but unfortunately it´s be up to Friedrich and not to me.

The exhibition “the American Woman: a Fashioning a National Identity” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is running from May 3 to August 14, 2010/ NY, aroused my interest about fashion history a lot. Unfortunately I wasn´t allowed to take photos of that part of the museum but luckily, just after starting my research about the Gibson Girl and the Bohemian, I found some wonderful movie clips about the exhibition.

Please check that one as well if you like to get a short view about american woman starting 1890s to 1930s. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzRKGVYDstM

That´s one of the moments I wish I would be back in the Netherlands. Please go there and let me know how it was!

During my visit to Studio Harlem Museum I came across with some amazing artists.
One of them is Samuel Fosso (Kunmba, Cameroon, 1962), a photographer who is well known for his portraits. Portraits of all different kinds of people but especially he is famous for self portraits. He started to take and send them to his mother, whom he had left behind in Nigeria. Unfortunalty at the Studio Harlem I could just see a very small selection of his black and white photos but I want to share some his colored once with you as well.
